Here are some things that i have and like very much.
Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) on Vinyl. Arguably the most important hip hop record of all time & my personal favourite album of all time. Coming out at a time when West coast rap was dominating radio and MTV, They put the East Coast firmly back on the map bringing you that raw, gritty, New York style… This is pretty much the soundtrack to any mid 90′s skateboarder or hip hop head…. Bring the Ruckus, Can It Be All So Simple, Protect Ya Neck, C.R.E.A.M…. Need i say more.
Gino’s style is unparalleled.
He’s like my skateboard hero or something…
so to sum up, these are all things that i have…and i like.
2013 was pretty shit as far as i’m concerned…
The only really good thing to happen for me was landing myself a job at the prestigious White Duck Screen Print in Bath.
Since starting there i’ve learnt something new about screen printing every day, & been lucky enough to have two of the best printers in the business (Josh & Henry)
to teach me the skills and attention to detail you need to become a professional screen printer.
I’ve also been lucky enough to help print some amazing artwork by some of the best illustrators, artists and design companies around.
( hope that doesn’t come across too bragging or sucking up to the boss……but….my job is awesome so suck it ! )
Recently at White Duck we have been working with Little White Lies magazine to produce some stunning gig style posters based on films by the Coen Brothers.
( speil underneath stolen from the White Duck website ) http://www.whiteduckscreenprint.co.uk
“Excited talk started with Little White Lies Magazine back in the latter part of 2013. They had a Coen Brothers poster project on the cards, in anticipation of the much touted new film by said legendary sibling filmmakers: Inside Llewyn Davis; and so it was that we went into our Christmas break, appetites for a quite unique screen print collaboration firmly whetted’
“Early-doors 2014 and we found ourselves presented with 7 quite exceptional gig-style posters, each based on a film from the Coen canon and lovingly created by a meticulously selected group of today’s leading illustration talents, all of this wrapped up in the guise of a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ poster show”
“It is therefore with great pleasure that we and Little White Lies present to you:”
‘ONE NIGHT ONLY’ ~ A Coen Brothers Gig Poster EXTRAVANAGANZA!
We couldn’t be more thrilled to be involved so heavily in this project, and with production of the posters already well underway at the White Duck studio, we can confirm that the upcoming show will be one beautifully realised event.
Come and witness the full set of gig-posters, hanging LIVE at 71A Gallery, Leonard Street, London, EC2A 4QS, on Thursday the 23rd of January 2014.
Not to be missed!
